Kutná Hora Full-Day Tour From Prague
Visit the town of medieval silver mines and a UNESCO World Heritage Site (6 - 7 hours)
This small town will surprise you!
We will visit two cathedral-sized Gothic churches and stroll through picturesque lanes, below which lay a deep labyrinth of medieval silver mines. Kutná Hora once was wealthy, and in the Bohemian Kingdom, it was second in importance to Prague. In the Italian Court, which has a royal palace, the coiners minted the famous silver groschen for centuries.
In nearby Sedlec, we will consider the transience of life in the underground Ossuary, a chapel decorated with the bones of more than 40, 000 people who died in the Black Plague and during the Hussite Wars. The main church of a nearby monastery is in the unique Baroque Gothic style, which exists only in the Czech Republic.
Our air-conditioned minivan will take us to both Sedlec and Kutná Hora, where we will walk. Upon your request, I am available to customize this tour.
